Yeah. Good times before, during, and well after the ride.
Trails were almost perfect.
We rode everything. Including some things that prolly shouldn't be ridden in snow
The group was a hoot to ride and BS with.
Some of the crashes were epic. (It seems the parking lot crashes are always the best!)
Met some mostly-new-to-the-group folks.
We only lost one rider.........where are you Ryan?
In short, that was a great ride!

Yes we are on for tonight! The weather is awesome and it is going to be a great night for a ride.
A little less than 1/2 the trails got groomed last night and are reported to be in perfect shape. With the warm temps, and frankly we are still learning on this grooming stuff, we are asking that you ride no narrower than 3.8" tires.

Trails will be groomed tonight and should be perfect for tomorrow! It should be a great Thursday Night Ride!

With temps flirting at the freezing point. The first Frozen Thursday Night Ride of the season should be a go tonight! As soon as that sun gets low on the horizon the ground should be firming up.
This is one of my favorite types of riding If you have never ridden frozen dirt, you have to check it out. I compare it to riding on slickrock. Everything is hard. The traction is amazing - no drifting here! Really very cool.
And I am bummed. Pretty sure I have a case of strep throat, so I am out.
Anyway, I hope others are able to get out and enjoy it. It should be a great ride!

So that was a lot of fun! Another shorts ride in the books!
Even though I was sucking wind tonight, it was great to get out. The trails are in great shape. We had a small but nice group, and a couple other groups were out enjoying the night. The temps are unbelievable for this time of year. And the stars were simply amazing. Some good talks with friends after at CamRock Sport - as always working to make CamRock an even better place! And then I get the added benny of a nice dirt & gravel combo ride back to Rockdale. Even took a trail soda along, then stopped part way back, to just enjoy the beautiful evening for awhile. It was a great night 8)

Yes it is December. Yes there is no snow. And yes the ground is thawed. But we are riding tonight!
Trails are dry enough to ride. It is a weird winter

OK this is getting depressing. Starting to sound like a broken record. With temp just cold enough to freeze at night, almost 50 during the day, and the sloppy rain/snow we had today, I can't imagine trails will be ready to ride tomorrow. I gotta ride soon!
On a better note: Global Fat Bike Day is Saturday. We will be riding....something. Hey it will be riding. There will be shenanigans. It should be a fun time. Plan to ride Saturday. Fat Bike optional.

I cancelled the Turkey Day Ride. With temps in the 50's and an inch and a half of rain predicted I felt it was a pretty safe bet.
Three weeks in a row of no Thursday Night ride. Arggh. The shoulder seasons can test you.
Colder weather returning this weekend. Lets hope it lasts.

Foiled once again! Arghh fall can be frustrating. I guess we gotta remember what a truly amazing fall it has been for riding.
The trails are too wet from the last two days of rain. It is not yet cold enough to freeze. And the snow has not yet arrived.
Though a ride Saturday is looking better and better....stay tuned!

With this late fall nastiness that has come calling, we are out for tonight. Trails are obviously too wet, and this wind would take any fun out of a road ride.
