The Dane County Board just voted to add a nice chunk of land to the CamRock Park system.
This is the first, and by far the largest, in a series of four purchases that they hope to make to add to the park.
The primary goal of the additions is to add trails to the CamRock Park system.
The reason they are doing this is because they see the added use and the demands on the CamRock Trail system.
This is why we all MUST buy a Dane County Parks pass for riding at the Parks. All passes purchased count. And the huge increase in yearly passes is what is driving this move.
Realize that every pass you buy gets us more operations $ for CamRock and Seminole trails. This pays for everything from stickers for signage to new mowers to contractors to helping us build new trails.
This property acquisition is $1,000,000 so that is an awful lot of bike passes!
Also every time you get your IMBA membership and choose CORP as your club we also get both more $ for operations, as well as more money and support flowing back to us from IMBA.
As for development at CamRock think five years out. That is with hard effort and lots of planning during that time. There is more property to hopefully buy. Then we will need to push and be a part of the Master Planning Process. There will be money to raise. And hopefully that means the hiring of contractors to build us some really sweet new singletrack!
