I'm attempting to upgrade from version 1.1.15 to version 2.0.1 so we can take advantage of newer features and mods using the webinstall function (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Webinstall).

It looks like the upgrade may overwrite the custom link between the SMF and WP logins, so I am going to have to check with the developer on what we need to do to restore that customization when we upgrade.

I figured out the process for installing mods. I'm going to hold off on adding any until the upgrade is complete. For now, here is my wish list for version 2 modifications:

Facebook / Twitter integration - single click to share a forum topic on social networks

- Spam-prevention - it looks like SMF has improved the captcha, and we can also require a security question. I'll take a gander at the bot-prevention methods for version 2.0.

- Further customization/display of relevant information on user profile (ex. recent activity)

looks like a good wish list.  i'm just poking around and not installing or changing anything as I don't want to mess up the customization.  once we get a handle what has been coded maybe we should make it know what is the critical link so nothing is installed that will change that area

Anyway we can remove the old broken forum pointer from tapatalks site? It is still showing up if you do a fresh search for capital off road pathfinders.

Yeah there is a configuration within tapatalk to share your location

Are we going to have clear guidance as to what mods can be safely installed without boinking any of the custom coding?
